Some servers (most of the ones I play on) have rules against using xray. Since this mod allows replays to be viewed in spectator mode, it can be used as an xray mod. Would it be possible to make the default action of replay mod to hide blocks that have not appeared in the player's line of sight at any point in the recording? If this becomes the default action, then I will be able to record videos on some of my favorite servers.
If this is possible and made the default, then it could also be possible to have a way for staff to grant permission to use this mod to see blocks the player could not have seen, possibly by using the world seed as confirmation that xray is allowed (since the seed would allow the world to be recreated in single player anyways).
I imagine that ray tracing the world from a player's perspective while tracking which blocks are visible or not is not an ideal replay recording method. I am flexible about how this might be implemented.
