I'm trying to make a 360° video. When It's being rendered it looks as it should but then after I can't open the finished video file or upload it to youtube. I put the file through the metadata thing so youtube reconises it as well. I tried using the encoding presets mp4 high and default. neither worked...

How is that related to your thread title unknown video format ? Can't you open the video file with your Media Player?

If so, it'd be very confusing since you renderd a mp4 file.

can't open it with anything and i tried 3 different video players and they all said that it's an unknown/unsupported video file

What file format is it then? You can right click the file -> Properties -> Details and you'll find details about the file

What video players did you use?
You should also post the content of the "export.log" file within your .minecraft folder.
