Could someone tell me the exact way to get pass the error saying:
"To render a video you need ffmpeg installed"

Documentation is very unclear on how to fix this problem

Documentation explains that i need to find the full path to your ffmpeg.exe
Cant find anything on my computer relating to ffmpeg.exe my computer is windows OS

Help very much appreciated if you could explain rather than getting refereed to the documentation as it is hard and Unclear for me to understand
Many Thanks sorry to be a pain....

I have been having the same problem and I do have ffmpeg installed. I also haven't been able to start my own thread. Every time I try to make a help thread, it just refreshes the page and doesn't post. Also, I am on a mac.

To install ffmpeg you need to put it in the folder you want to install it in. Then you'll have to download the batch script, which is linked in the documentation right here, put the script into the same folder ffmpeg is in and then run it.

Yes, that's what I just said. But I wouldn't recommend it.

So where do u recommend i put it?
Somewhere you don't need to move it later. Because if you move it, you'll have to run the script again.
Somewhere like the program files folder

    1. Download ffmpeg
    2. Download the .bat file
    3. Extract the .7zip in the folder you want to install ffmpeg in
    4. Put the .bat file in the same folder ffmpeg is in
    5. Double click the .bat file to run it
    6. You've done it!

    • User

    1. Done
    2. where do i get the .bat file from?
    3. what .7zip folder? can winrar be used?

    the rest seams simple enough

I'm not sure how to extract using winrar, but if you right click the .7z(ffmpeg) there should be an option called 'extract here using winrar' or something like that

Now you have to run the .bat file (which is usually done through right clicking)

It looks like you downloaded a wrong build/version of ffmpeg, here's a direct link to the download: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/ffmpeg-20150814-git-affbecb-win64-static.7z

After you downloaded the file you should do this:
    1. Create a folder where only this version of ffmpeg and the .bat file is in (You can use the old folder if you delete the other version of ffmpeg)
    2. Extract the .7z file using winrar
    3. Run the .bat file using double click

the .bat file is displaying its self as "ffmpeg-path-installer " is the correct?

also please explain what you mean by the .7z file?

    Yes, just double click.

.7z is an archive format. You can use WinRar to extract it

Yes, the name of the .bat file is correct
And with .7z file I mean the file you just downloaded, it should be called 'ffmpeg-20150629-git-ca3b274-win64-static'

CMD says: " SUCCESSS: Specified value was saved.
succsessfully set ffmpeg's path variable If you move this folder make sure to run this again
    Press any key to continue."

I am guessing this means it should now be all working?
