So i was recording something very important and my MC crashed. This has happened before but the recording wasnt important so I didnt give it a thought. But when i recover the replay after restarting MC , the recovered replay just comes as 00:00 . I have saved the mcpr.temp folder somewhere else and i have tried it 5 times now. Is there a manual way to recover it ? i really need the replay.

I am playing on a mod pack on minecraft 1.12.2

Please post the contents of the fml-client-latest.log file inside the logs folder inside your .minecraft folder to some pastebin site and link to the post here.

Note that this log will only contain information on the last time you started Minecraft, not any previous runs.

Now, replays can be recovered manually but the process is a bit more involved and not perfect:
    1. Make another copy of the temp folder and open it. Inside, open the "changed" folder.
    2. Make sure there's a recording.tmcpr file of significant size (depending on replay duration, in the 100s of MBs, if it is smaller than 1MB, you can probably consider your replay lost) and a metaData.json file (ask again if that file is missing, there are ways to create a dummy one)
    3. Open the metaData.json file with a text editor and change the value after "duration" to the aproximate duration of the replay (in milliseconds, i.e. in seconds * 1000). This value will be used to determine the relative position of the cursor on the top timeline, overestimating this value is fine, any underestimation will prevent you from jumping to the end of the replay but everything should still work fine otherwise.
    4. Save and close the editor
    5. Take all files inside your current folder (i.e. all files in the "changed" folder) and combine them into a zip file. Make sure that the files themselves are at the root of the zip file and not inside another folder (i.e. do not zip the "changed" folder but zip its content). Change the ending of the created zip file to ".mcpr" and move it into your replay_recordings folder.
    6. Try opening it in the Replay Viewer

Try the site I linked. We set up our own one specifically because of that limit.

    1. The bit more involved method worked. Am very releifed.
    2. I learned a little about how this mod works.
    3. Fast and reliable reply by you.
    4. Love the mod even more now because of 3.
    5. I couldnt find the fml-client-latest.log in the FTB revelation modpack but there was a latest.log. So in case you would like a peak anyway https://paste.replaymod.com/gikutacoyo

Honestly the name hastebin gave me a giggle , but when it color coded the log it made sense. Thanks again for the "Hastey" Help :)
