so I went to replay center downloaded one of the popular vids then when I try to watch it the game crash

The game crashed whilst unexpected error
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Unexpected error

You're using an old version of the ReplayMod. This particular issue has been fixed in newer MapWriter versions and a workaround has been included in ReplayMod 2.1.0 for older ones (MC 1.8.9 is no longer supported by MapWriter).

ok so loading vids from replay center was working but when I watched one of the vids and exit out of it game crash

also didn't get by 1.8.9 doesn't support MapWriters

The crash when exiting a replay is a known issue, see here.
No idea what you're trying to say with the second sentence.
