I would like to formally request a shoulder camera mode.

How it works is, the camera would be slightly behind the player and offset from the players center of gravity by a little bit. Similar to how the camera style works in the Gears of War series.

This would be a great addition to the mod. If possible, the camera should "shake" as the player runs, and pan in the direction that the player looks. This would give a great effect to those who record adventure maps.

    What do you think?

Similar requests have already been made, but as of now, we are focussing on other, more urgent features and bugfixes.
I won't deny though that we might add such a feature in a later version.

Of course, it's merely a suggestion for some future version of the mod. Even if it's never added, it's still nice being able to bounce ideas off eachother :)

I would expand that to just following any player around, from a set distance and angle.

It would be pretty awesome. I have been playing around with camera paths and camera roll and have been able to emulate this effect. The possibilities with this mod are endless.

I think this is a good idea and worth adding to the mod.

I already added this. Will be in release 1.1.

I would like to add to this, could you not make it so that the person viewing the replay can control the offset of the camera to the player?

This would mean you can have the camera point anywhere, even facing the front of the player, yet the camera still follows the path of the player as it does in spectator mode?

This is actually included in the latest version already. Use spectator keyframes.

I know about spectator keyframes, but they're always from the players viewpoint.
I'm on about offsetting the camera angle, so that it follows the same path as the spectated player, but also keeps that player frames the same.

Imagine for example playing in either F5 mode or reverse F5 mode

Use Spectator Keyframes in Version 1.0.6, and double click them to open the "Edit Keyframe" GUI. You'll find a button to toggle the Keyframe type, which allows you to do exactly what you're asking for.

    So it is...very well!
