I have had the same problem almost every time I try to render something, sometimes it just plain works if I try it again and again and again. But this time it did not.
I am using macOS Sierra 10.12.5 with ffmpeg 3.2.2 and the 2.0.0 release of the 1.12 replay mod. I can use all other GUI elements of the replay mod, I have created a camera path but when I click render, it renders 4 frames and then crashes. I just want it to work reliably so that I don't have to worry about rendering every time I want to make a replay mod video.
    I am using forge 1.12-14.21.1.2387

I did use optifine before but I took that out so that replay mod was the only mod in the mods folder. Same results.

    This is my latest.log:

Could you post the contents of the export.log file in your .minecraft folder?

And now... it just started working again, I have no idea why this happens. I had changed the path for ffmpeg before so I removed that path and that also resulted in a crash, then I did the exact same steps and it just worked. This is very weird.

And now I did the exact same thing again and it crashed. This cannot be reproduced accurately at all...

Please copy the full game log and export.log everytime. That way we can compare them and find out what's different (because there obviously has to be something that's different between different runs).

I think I might have found the problem, apparently, I cannot rename or move the replay video to where it should be output. This must be a bug, maybe something to do with permissions? That is the only difference between all of my replay files. I'm going to try to render something completely unrelated to see if this is the case.

Edit: I just tried it and it worked without flaws, but this is a bug, you should be able to save your replay files with the name you want and in the directory you want. It is probably a problem on my computer or macOS, my suspicion is permissions?

No. I just tried it and saving replays wherever you want is working perfectly fine. The crash also does not at all look like it's caused by permissions.

Hmm. I wonder why it does not work then. So we do know what the problem is but how do I figure out what is causing it?
