Replay Mod Forums

Hello there

I'm striving to produce cinematic videos and beautiful images on Minecraft. I'm concerned about the compatibility with shaders while using Replay mod.
Is there any possibility that I can use Replay Mod on 1.11.2 while using shaders? I use SEUS atm, but willing to switch to any other if SEUS will never again be compatible.

It's really frustraiting that I currently can't produce videos on the same quality as those I achieve using shaders. Again, Replay Mod is an absolutely amazing mod and I won't stop using it, but with the current incompatibility with shaders, I do question whether I should upload my videos or not, as I focus on ultra HD videos and not vanilla graphics.

The shaders mod is not and probably will not be compatible with Minecraft Forge. There is absolutely no way the Replay Mod can work without Forge.
Neither we nor the Forge team can change that. The only person who can, is the author of the shaders mod, karyonix, but I don't think that's on their list of things to do.

Optifine however, is perfectly (well, almost) compatible with Minecraft Forge and the Replay Mod. It also has support for shaders.

I'm really new into shaders and everything related to forge, optifine and generally modding. Sorry for asking questions which may already have been answered, but;
Does this incompatibility only count for SEUS Shaders mod or for every single shaders mod out there?

There is no such thing as a SEUS Shaders mod.

What is generally referred to as the Shaders mod is more specifically known as karyonix's shader mod. This mod (and since 1.9 also Optifine) allow you to load what are commonly called "Shader packs".

Shader packs are the things that actually tell the GPU how to render things (and therefore determine how the things you see will actually look like). The shaders mod (and since 1.9 also Optifine) provide all the other stuff (like loading of shader packs and modification to the Minecraft code) that most people will never know of but which is never the less essential for shader packs to function.

SEUS is one example of a shader pack. Most shader packs work with both, Karyonix' Shader Mod and Optifine and can therefore also be used with the Replay Mod. Only shader packs that do not work with Optifine will not work with the Replay Mod. SEUS even recommends using Optifine in its installation instructions.
