So, I've been combing the forums for an explanation on how to render so that the finished products has shaders in it.\
I've found nothing, and I have a video needed on Monday at the most.
I know that what happens when rendering with shaders is that the game crashes. For me, it gets stuck on a black screen, etc..
I can render when I uninstall Optifine, but how will I add shaders into my video if I don't have Optifine? I like making cinematics.
    Here are my versions:
    Minecraft v1.11
    Forge 1.11-13.19.1.2189
    replaymod-1.11-2.0.0-b6
Optifine: When I try to render with it: OptiFine_1.11_HD_U_B8 and OptiFine_1.11_HD_U_B7. Have yet to try out OptiFine_1.11_HD_U_B6.

And yes, ffmpeg is installed correctly as the render works perfectly without Optifine installed.
If you really wanted to know my basic PC specs, although they should be fine:
    Intel i5 4690K
    Nvidia GTX 960 2GB

One thing I forgot to mention: When I click on the render button, it does not take me to the render settings menu that you use before rendering. It just goes straight to a black screen.

The problem you're having is (probably) not directly caused by Optifine. There are lots of people (including all devs) that can use Optifine just fine.
However there seem to be some people for which installing some mod (Optifine and/or some other I forgot) and/or having some specific video driver causes the screen to flicker and/or the game to crash when clicking the Render button.

We have yet to find someone that can competently help us find the source of this behavior (as none of the devs can reproduce).

We do know of a potential workaround (that has not received a lot of testing though, again because of a lack of people being able to reproduce it) that we intent to include in the 2.0.0 release.
If you can build the Replay Mod yourself then all you need to change is replacing this star with an "x". If you don't know how to build it yourself, let me know and I'll provide a test build for you asap.

Thanks. I don't think I'll be able to build it myself, but I can record to show you what it's like.

At first I thought it was Java version, as my Java was extremely outdated, I updated it and to no avail.
Sorry if the video was boring. Just wanted to make sure you had as much information as possible.

Sometimes it also says this as crash message:
The game crashed whilst calling gui method
Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot convert position unless rendered at least once.

Much thanks. Will report back on how it turns out.

Sorry, I somehow missed your previous messages. Here you go.
The version you gave me doesn't seem to help: Rendering settings don't even show up, just goes straight to black screen. On black screen, I press escape, it goes to replay Viewer like before I clicked render but only a portion of the screen can be seen, then I press escape + mod options to make it go back to full screen shown.
Sometimes this error shows in chat: OpenGL Error: 1283 (Stack Overflow)

Hmm.. that GL error and the fact that you can only see a specifc part of the screen (haven't had that with anyone before) gave me an idea. Could you give this version a try? If it works, it'll look odd but no longer completely blank. Then at least I'll know what could cause it (and you could render your video).

This version seems to help to an extent. It gets me to Render Settings, although some of the Render Settings gui is gone. I click where I assume the Render button would be, and Minecraft seems to crash. Will add video.

After Minecraft crashes, this message shows up:

Hmm.. seems like it does have to do something with the * (that's where rendering seems to end). Currently compiling a test build with both workarounds applied. I'll post a link once it's finished building and uploading.

Hmm...seems to have the same error as the noglScissor version.
If all else fails, I can just make a video without shaders, you don't have to work your butt off :)

Does it render more of the settings GUI though, or does it also stop at where the * was supposed to be?

Doesn't seem to render any more than the previous version that was in that video; stops at 1080 on resolution, I believe.

Could you try removing your resource pack (or at least the fonts part of it)?

Ahh, I should've thought of that. GUI fully renders with Optifine installed. Huge thanks for helping. :)

You're welcome. Before you disappear, could you link me to the resource pack you've been using (I tried some random 128x but it worked fine and I can't find yours), so I can hopefully reproduce and fix it in future versions?

    I used the free version.

Hello, I have the same issue, just with 1.11.2. The server I'm playing on is restricted to 1.11.2 minimum, and I require both Replay Mod and SEUS shaders to create some cinematic projects.

I've noticed in the 'Help' section on the forums that the shaders are not available after a said version. Can it possibly be made so that I can run the shaders and Replaymod on the 1.11.2 server?
I would hugely appreciate a fix to this. I'm sure there are a lot other players who seek the same fix.

(PS. I've read every post in this thread, but I'm still unsure if it will run 1.11.2 too or only 1.11?.)

    With best regards
    Tut :)

No way. The shaders mod is not compatible with Minecraft Forge and neither we nor the Minecaft Forge team can change that. Optifine however is. I'm not sure what exactly it is you're asking. Unless you've got exactly the same issue (and the issue here is not just shaders not working, have a look at the first video for the exact issue), please open a new forum thread.
