    I downloaded everything it needed but still it tells me that I have to download ffmpeg to render a video. I'm on Mac

    I downloaded : - homebrew
    - ffmpeg
    - replaymod
    - forge
    - java

    And I followed the instructions

    You obviously didn't follow the instructions, which clearly tell you to link to the ffmpeg binary file in the render settings if it can't be found by default.
