That's because above answer is still valid: With the way the RM works, there is quite literally no way to start recording in the middle of a session.
I have added start/stop, pause/resume buttons which will be in the next release, however those just automatically apply something like the trim feature from the Replay Editor to the replay after recording is done but the RM still has to record the whole session.
